Federal Programs is the link which helps provide community members with information pertaining to Federal Programs. Schools receiving Title I are required to post and communicate information regarding certain programs throughout the district and in individual schools.
During the 2012-2013 school year, Arrowpoint, East Middle School, Grannemann, Keeven, Larimore, Townsend, Twillman, and Southeast Middle School will be served as Title I Schools.
In June 2012 Missouri was issued a waiver from certain requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. As a result of the waiver, Supplemental Education Services (SES Tutoring) will not be offered this year. The funds that were previously utilized for Supplemental Education Services in our Title I buildings will be reallocated to provide additional supports in Title I buildings and programs.
Additionally, as a result of the NCLB Waiver, Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) Status is no longer determined for schools. Previously students in Title I schools that were "in improvement" were allowed to transfer to other district schools under the School Choice option. With the waiver, improvement status has been eliminated along with the School Choice requirement. Beginning with the 2012-2013 school year, no additional students will be allowed to utilize the School Choice option. Students who were in the program prior to the 2012-2013 school year will be able to continue in the program until they complete 5th grade. Once students in the School Choice program complete 5th grade they will transition to the middle school that serves their home attendance area.
