Dr. Tony Brooks will be the new principal at Hazelwood West Middle School. He replaces Dr. Allison Klouse, who resigned recently to accept a position in another district.
Brooks has 15 years of experience in education, most recently serving as an administrator at MacArthur High School in Decatur, Ill. Previously, he spent nine years in the Cahokia Unit School District, where he served as a principal at the elementary level, and as an assistant principal and principal at the middle school level.
Brooks was the principal at Linton College Prep Charter Academy in St. Louis and also taught for four years in the Riverview Gardens School District.
He holds a degree in visual arts education from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Maryville University. He holds a specialist degree and a doctorate in educational administration from Lindenwood University.
Opportunities will be provided later this summer for Hazelwood West Middle School parents and students to meet Dr. Brooks.
